Team Leader Programmes - Upper Hutt City Council

H2OXtream is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to lead the Programmes team at one of the region’s most exciting and newest aquatic facilities.
This position is part of the leadership team for Recreation Services.
This is a full-time position with responsibility for H2O Xtream aquatic and dry programmes, including but not limited to, learn to swim, Floorball and Flippaball leagues, Play in Schools, Holiday Programmes and Water Safety.
This position will also assume responsibility for the oversight and upskilling of the Recreation Services aquatic’s educators, leagues and dry programmes staff.
This role will also be tasked with growing all the aquatic and dry programmes within Recreation Services and looking for further opportunities in these areas.
This role will work with the Recreation Services Manager and in conjunction with the Senior Aquatics Programmes Co-ordinator and Senior Dry Programmes Co-ordinator to provide and grow cost effective programmes that meet the community needs.
You will be a great communicator and easily relate to people of all ages and from all walks of life. You’ll be able to think on your feet, be able to guide, assist and deliver aquatic programmes, and you’ll have the flexibility to work shifts, as we’re open seven days a week.
Key responsibilities in this role include:
- Management of all staff and the effective delivery of all aquatic and dry programmes.
- Grow the current aquatic and dry programmes offered and look to develop further opportunities in these areas.
- Provide a safe and customer friendly environment for the community.
- Working in partnership with the Team Leader Customer Service and Engagement and Team Leader Operations to ensure a well-functioning facility.
