The Tū Manawa fund provides an opportunity for communities to apply for funding via a kaupapa Māori pathway. This pathway has the same outcomes and purpose as the fund, but it provides an alternative way to apply that may better suit some communities.

The pathway will focus on using the Te Whetū Rehua framework as a tool to help make decisions on the eligibility of an application. More information on Te Whetū Rehua framework can be found on the Sport NZ website

Once applicants have filled out and submitted a kaupapa Māori application, it will go to a panel, led by Māori from our region, to be discussed and assessed.

Te Whetū Rehua

A framework based on five key values important for Māori cultural and social development to help you consider how you might design or adapt activities to be culturally responsive to Māori.
